Martien Mulder
Dutch-born Martien Mulder combines portraiture, architecture, travel, interior and still life photography. She lives in New York and among her clients are commercial brands, cultural institutions, magazines, and newspapers. Exhibitions have been staged in New York, Amsterdam and Tokyo and she has published two books.
The variety of her subjects asks for a strong consistency in style and approach: the essence of each of her subjects is revealed without force, people seem to be at ease in front of her lens, and static objects are brought to life by her quietly focused attention. Martien creates stories that are soulfully minimalist.
Her pictures have appeared in magazines such as WSJ Magazine, Ark Journal, W Magazine, Elle Decor, Purple, i-D, Vogue Paris, 10, Fantastic Man, Pin-Up, Architectural Digest, Upstate Diary, Milk, Departures and Dossier.
Advertising clients include Google, Coca Cola, BMW, Conrad Hotels, Marriott, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Sea Ranch, Apple, Verizon, Ring, Nike, Banana Republic, Petit Bateau, Uniqlo, Motorola, Adidas, HSBC, IBM, Comcast, Exxon, Levi’s, France Telecom and Benjamin Moore.
