new story for Bookmarc Furniture

As part of a design collaboration between architect/designer Giancarlo Valle, fashion designer Marc Jacobs, and artist/illustrator Rob Wilson, Phillips is offering a unique set of upcycled furniture created from plywood. 

The project began in June 2020 when New Yorkers joined in nationwide protests against police brutality and racial injustice. 

As a sign of solidarity, design curator Dung Ngo commissioned Rob Wilson to paint a mural on the boards of the 'Bookmarc' storefront to celebrate the theme of "Unity Through Books." 

With the help of Giancarlo Valle, the boards were upcycled into furniture representing inclusion and equity for all peoples.
